Detroit Metro Airport (DTW)
Welcome to the Detroit Metro Airport!
The Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) covers 7,072 acres in Romulus, Michigan and is one of the busiest airports in Michigan serving more than 32 million passengers a year. DTW has six major runways and two terminals (McNamara terminal and north terminal). The airport serves as Delta Air Lines' second busiest hub. The airport is a major gateway for tourism in metropolitan Detroit and is conveniently located southwest of downtown Detroit. It is one of the nation's most recently expanded and modernized airports with an on-site Westin Hotel and conference center.
DTW offers a variety of restaurants, cafes, bars/lounges, delis, and vending machines throughout its airport. Some of these restaurants include McDonalds and Starbucks. Along with food and beverages, DTW also offers free and unlimited WiFi.
The Detroit Metro Airport has ATMs/cash machines, luggage trolleys (for free), car rentals, children’s play area, currency exchange, and vending machines.
DTW does not have rail service from the airport, but does offer rental cars, taxis, shuttles, and buses. The airport also provides a free shuttle service that links the two terminals.
Both terminals have state-of-the-art baggage x-ray machines and have helped in reducing the lost baggage claims and have helped bags arrive at their designated destinations.
If you plan to stay the night, DTW offers hotels near the airport with free shuttle service such as Clarion Hotel Detroit Metro, Days Inn and Suites, Americas Best Value Inn DTW and Howard Johnson Detroit Metro Airport.
